Special Exhibition

Exhibition are mounted that introduce highlights of modern and contemporary art around the theme of "Life and Art."

Permanent collection

The standing exhibition is a collection that presents the currents and highlights of modern and contemporary Japanese art.

Focus of the Collection

*Works by artists with a connection to Fuchu City and the Tama area
*Modern Japanese painting, particularly Western-style painting
*Works by promising young artists
*Works of art and documents appropriate to the museum

USHIJIMA Noriyuki memorial museum

A standing exhibition of works by USHIJIMA Noriyuki, a Western-style artist who painted Japanese landscapes.

Education Program

Details will be announced in leaflets, the Newsletter. There are also additional plans for Gallery Talks and Museum Concerts. A Gallery Talk on the Permanent Collection will be given from 2 p.m. on the 3rd Saturdays of the month.

Open Studio

Active artists will come to work in the open studio at the Museum. Although the studio will be occupied by the same artist for one or two months, please note that the artist may not be there everyday. The dates he or she will be present will be announced in leaflets.
By introducing various materials and techniques, the purpose of this workshop is for you to discover the joy of creating.

Citizen's gallery

A space available for the exhibition of art work (a fee is charged).

Art library

A collection of art books and magazines, focusing on modern and contemporary art, is available to the public. Use of the library is free of charge, but the collection does not circulate.

Museum shop

Exhibition catalogues, postcards, books, and original goods are on sale.

Cafe

Light meals and beverages are available.

Fuchu Art Museum Membership

Members are entitled to free admission for one year from the date of enrollment and receive a Newsletter three times a year.
Adult Membership 2,500yen
Senior High School and University Students 1,500yen
Elementary and Junior High School Students 800yen
Please apply for membership at the Reception Desk on the 1st floor.

Opening Times:

Museum Hours: 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Latest admission 4:30 p.m.)
Closed: Mondays, the day after a Public Holiday, New Year's Holiday, and while exhibits are being rearranged.(Please check the calendar in the Schedule before coming.)


Admission Prices:

For the Permanent Collection:
Adults 200yen (150yen) per person
Senior High School and University Students 100yen (80yen)
Elementary and Junior High School Students 50yen (30yen)
For Special Exhibitions: Charges vary.
*Preschoolers and People with a Disabled Pass are allowed free of charge.


Access:

■15 minute-walk from Higashi-Fuchu Station on the Keio Line.
■Take the following bus from Higashi-Fuchu Station on the Keio Line:
"Chu-Bus" For Fuchu Station, closest stop "Fuchu-shi-Bijutsukan".
■Take either of the following buses from Fuchu Station on the Keio Line:
"Chu-Bus" For Tamacho, closest stop "Fuchu-shi-Bijutsukan".
 For Musashi-Koganei Station (via Ippongi), closest stop "Tenjincho-ni-chome".
 For Musashi-Koganei Station (via Gakuen-Dori), 5 minute-walk from "Tenjincho- Yochien mae".
■Take either of the following buses from Musashi- Koganei Station on the JR Line:
 For Fuchu Station (via Ippongi), closest stop "Ippongi".
 For Fuchu Station (via Gakuen-Dori), 5 minute-walk from "Tenjincho-Yochien mae".
■By car, parking is available at a temporary parking lot run by the city, which is free of charge and has space for 60 cars.
